Lake Area Animal Clinic is a well-established clinic that has been operating since 1972, but started as Kothman Animal Clinic under the ownership of Dr. Victor Kothman from Mason, Texas. Later on, in 1981, Dr. George Lilliard moved to Buchanan Dam from the Rio Grande Valley and purchased the clinic, changing its name to Lake Area Animal Clinic. During his tenure as a solo practitioner, he received part-time help from Dr. Mary Muhlegger and Dr. Mike Kelley.
